Fan-cooled, water cooled, marine and custom-built brake resistors

Cressall manufactures braking resistors for operation at all DC link voltages up to 6kV DC for use with low and medium voltage inverter drive systems.
For marine and offshore applications, cooling methods can be air cooled (fan-assisted or natural convection) or liquid cooled using fresh water or seawater. Where needed resistor elements will be fully insulated and sheathed in stainless steel or titanium tubes so that they are unaffected by the marine environment.


An ATEX-EExe certified brake resistor for oilfield use, rated 5 x 25kW continuous at 800V DC

A forced air cooled 10-section DBR for offshore use, all-stainless steel grade 316 enclosure, sheathed elements, 480kW continuously rated.	A 50kW continuously rated fan-cooled resistor

A 1MW fresh water-cooled brake resistor for marine use.
